GLAMORGAN will find out officially tomorrow if former Australian paceman Jason Gillespie will join them as their overseas player for the summer.
The England and Wales Cricket Board will meet to discuss appeals from players and counties, whose registrations to play county cricket this season were blocked last month because of participation in the ‘rebel’ Indian Cricket League.
Gillespie appeared in the ICL after signing for Glam and there has been confusion between the Australian and English cricketing authorities about whether this has made him ineligible for the county.
But that should be resolved tomorrow, and Glamorgan officials privately expect the ECB to decline Gillespie’s application.
